Why Okinawa works for a golf trip
Okinawa offers warm-weather golf, ocean scenery, and resort accommodation. It is especially attractive when courses in colder parts of Japan have limited winter operation.
The island is long, however. A course in Nago or Onna is not close to central Naha simply because both are in Okinawa Prefecture.
Choose the golf area with the hotel
Northern resort areas include Nago and Onna. Kanehide Kise Country Club, Kanucha Golf Course, and PGM Golf Resort Okinawa are examples of substantial resort-oriented courses in the north.
Book the hotel and course together geographically. Moving from a Naha hotel to a northern course for an early tee time can require a very early departure.
Rental car planning
A rental car is often the simplest transport option. Check travel time, morning traffic, parking, toll-road use, and whether the vehicle can hold all golf bags and suitcases.
Resort shuttles may exist, but they are not automatically golf-course transfers. Confirm the pickup point and whether it operates early enough for the tee time.
Different resort products
Okinawa resorts can sell golf-only plans, hotel packages, 18-hole rounds, nine-hole rounds, and shorter trial products. Read the product name carefully.
Kanucha, for example, advertises shorter play options in addition to normal 18-hole golf. PGM Golf Resort Okinawa has 27 holes, so the selected course combination matters.
Two-player golf
Resort courses often attract couples, but two-player conditions remain plan-specific. Check 2サム保証 and 2サム割増 for the exact tee time.
A hotel package does not necessarily waive a twosome supplement. The number of players, room occupancy, and golf plan may be calculated separately.
Meals and clubhouse use
Confirm whether the golf fee includes lunch. Resort restaurants may offer included menu choices and premium items with supplements.
Early or through-play products can handle meals differently. Also check bath and locker availability for late starts.
Weather
Okinawa weather can change quickly. Wind, heavy rain, typhoons, and summer heat can affect the day. Ordinary rain does not automatically cancel a reservation.
During typhoon periods, follow official course notices. Do not cancel independently and assume the fee will be waived.

FAQ
Can I stay in Naha and play in Nago?
Yes, but allow substantial driving time, especially for an early tee time.
Is Okinawa golf available year-round?
Many courses operate throughout the year, but weather and maintenance schedules still affect availability.
Are resort courses easy for beginners?
Some are approachable, but ocean wind, elevation, and course design can add difficulty. Choose the exact course and tee carefully.
