Cancellation conditions depend on the course and the plan you booked. Before changing anything, save your reservation and the original plan details. Check when fees begin, whether they apply per player or per group, and whether reducing the group size changes the price.

The deadline for cancelling online and the start of cancellation fees are separate questions. If the online option has closed, follow the instructions on your reservation and contact the appropriate course or booking service. Do not assume the reservation has been cancelled.

How payment usually works

At many full-service Japanese golf courses, reception gives each player a locker-key holder or account card. Restaurant, shop, rental, practice-ball, and other on-site charges may be recorded to that account.

After the round, you return to the clubhouse, change clothes or bathe if you want, then settle the bill at the front desk or self-checkout machine.

Many large visitor-friendly courses accept major credit cards for the main bill, but cash is still useful for taxis, practice balls, vending machines, small purchases, or foreign-card trouble.
